Profile:

I started my career at an early age when I played for every level of junior cricket at Horsforth CC.  Once I had past the U’17’s level of the game I decided to have a break from the game and decided to take up supporting the team with a few beers and heckling the other teams rather than playing.  After a few years I decided to come out of retirement when I moved to Otley CC and played for the 2nd team for two years.  I then moved back to Horsforth CC and they obviously didn’t realise my potential as I didn’t get picked for any team, that maybe because I dint turn up for nets but when you are good you don’t need to net.  For the next few years I was the player who was always called up when the 3rd team were short and I was the 13th man.  During this spell I got my best figures as shown above.  In 2005 I was drafted in as a specialist number eleven batsmen, I scored a massive 3 not out.  Obviously showing my potential, I was drafted in for the next game at Thackley CC.  This became my biggest mistake ever. After going out to bat and scoring a duck the day started bad, the worst was yet to come.  Fielding at square leg whilst trying talking to the umpire trying to get the fielding point, a horrible half tracker was bowled by a fellow player at the team and the batsmen hit the ball straight at me.  I forgetting at the time how to catch the ball missed it completely and it hit me square in the nose leaving a nice mark. I wasn’t bothered at the time that I got hit, it was the fact that I was due to bowl the next over.  Once this had happened I thought enough is enough for cricket and I decided to hang up my spikes for good. I still receive horrible banter about the incident today. What did I expect though?  So now I stick to drinking and supporting my local club and having a go at all the other teams when I can.  But after watching the game for a couple of seasons now I want to get back into the game, who knows I maybe be able to produce some glorious figures as above.  The Legend may still live on shortly.
