Profile: My first game of cricket was as a 7 year old in a junior U16 match. Having loved the game since then I went on to represent Leicestershire Young Cricketers as a sharp leg spinner until the age of 13 when I hit my first 100. Progressing through the ranks of Leicestershire Young Cricketers I became an opening batsman capable of demolishing any county attack. At U17 age group I caught the eye of the England selectors having scored 532 runs in 5 innings with a PB of 219. That season I also earnt a county contract and represented England up to U18 level. Whilst playing in Leicestershire I became the youngest cricketer to score a hundred in the Everards Premier League aged 16 213 days. I also scored the most ever runs and most hundreds as a Leicestershire junior a record still held to this day. I moved to Yorkshire seeking a
university degree and found myself playing at Horsforth Cricket
Club. Since playing at the horse in four season I have scored 3140
1st X1 runs the 3rd highest of all time. I also hold the club record
score 159* and the most centuries. Recently I have taken over the
captaincy to lead the Horse from the relegation zone. I love playing
my cricket at Horsforth now and have a huge interest in the
development of the club and the junior cricketers. My cricketing
ambition is to captain the Horse in division A. I have recently
passed 14000 career runs which includes 103 50's and 42 100's. My
personal aim is to score 25000 runs including 60 100s and 150 50's.
Horsforth Cricket Club has taught me that there is alot more to the
game than just cricket. The social aspect of the club has made my
short stay such a wonderful and fulfilling time. The senior
committee members should be proud of the unique mecca of which HCC
stands upon. Horsforth Cricket Club for me personally has brought me
lifetime friends on the pitch and off the pitch, and in recent times
the club has gone from strenght to strength and this has been
polished with granit by all the members of the club. With plans for
a new build I cannot wait to represent this unique cricket club for
decades to come. I wish everybody success in the future and always
remeber that " at the end of the day Cricket was the Winner ." |
