I've been a member of Horsforth cricket club for 10 years started as just a fielder who couldn't bat or bowl but when I turned 15 years old I won the bowling award. In my first year in under 17's I won the fielding award in 2002, then in my last year of U17s that's when I started to improve on my fielding & bowling but not my batting. That year I won the bowling award also the most improved player of the year in 2003.

So then juniors was finished & I thought that I wouldn't play senior cricket thinking that I wasn't good enough but I was wrong.  I started off playing in the seconds as just a fielder who didn't bowl or bat. I got my chance about half way through the season the first team became short and I was picked to play and I thought that would only last one game then back to the seconds but I was wrong. In the first game I played we were at home and assumed I was just going to field but they were short of bowlers so the skipper A. Cadman trusted me and asked me to open the bowling, well I don't know how many runs I went for but I bowled well enough to stay in for the rest off the season & I got my first 1st team wicket against Woodhouse.  It was the last few overs and they were going to get a point but we wanted the full 6 not 5 they put me on as a gamble and in my last over I bowled crap bowled all over the place. but in my last bowl I got this muppet out lbw and we got the full 6 points and I kept my place throughout the rest of the season. That's the year I won the fielding award. but the best was being part of the 1st team being promoted to the B division.

Well now I'm playing 2nd team opening the bowling being one of the fastest in the club but the smallest player. I am the fastest bowler in the 2nd team division and also a very good fielder being one of the top fielders in the club. Now my batting has got better much better & I got my highest score this year 31 off 20 bowls being very dirty, I was told to plod and bat for the draw me plod no chance and what happened next out shock.

Next seasons goal is to play 1st team but to do that I need to improve my radar and its getting better but not there yet and my batting well we'll wait and see.
