Profile: I got into cricket when I came down to the training on Mondays night at the age of 8 with my brother, as there was no U9 or U11 in my day I found myself having to wait a year before I got my first game when I had come to watch my brother and they where short. Having had a year under the excellent coaching talent of the legendary Mr Pickford I took three wickets and soon found that I loved bowling. After being a fill in man for the U13 for 2 years I found that role change to the U15, then U17. I didn’t bowl much throughout my junior career, although I was bowling at age 15 in Horsofrth Thirds, still no one would bowl me at junior level. Then in my last year of U17 My captain who played with me in the Thirds gave me the ball four games from the end of the season and with my very first bowl at U17 level I got a wicket, and from there went on to bowl the rest of the season finishing with 11 wickets. Helping my team white wash the league with maximum points, and destroy Otley in league play-off final with 2 wickets.
After juniors I had half a season as captain of the Dales Council side where I pulled them kicking a streaming out of relegation to have the club pull out of the league anyway, horrid!!!!!, I went to uni and didn’t play much cricket for 3 year due to village captaincy and selection in the third team I was playing seconds or not at all. I finally broke into the second team as a regular playing for the full 2004 season, where I was used as a back up bowler and to bat out draws, Horrid banter!, this however improved my batting. I am now back in the thirds where I can get a regular bowl and enjoy my cricket, over the years I developed a mighty ‘fast bowlers’ stare and discovered I could bat long periods so now for so reason best known to my captain I open the batting and see off the new ball with solidness and fines that only comes from a server lack of footwork.
Rumour has it I am a batsman who can bowl, if this rumour is heard IGNORE IT! I am DEFINITELY A BOWLER!!!!!! But I can hold a bat! I am not an all-rounder ever!

Administrators opinion
Known as the lumberjack, Peter is the heart and soul of 3rd XI cricket. With both bat and ball he shows leadership and authority of which everyone at the club aspires to be like. Once a number 11 batsman who bowled lots of no-balls, The Lumberjack now opens the batting with both his dry and wet bat depending on the conditions and looks to dispatch the oppositions opening attack to all parts of the ground. With a new cherry in his hand, The Lumberjack is a danger not only to himself but everyone who gets in his way.
